I am done. I am done? No, actually, I am not. 52 songs later and what I have, ladies and gentlemen, is more or less 52 demos. But you knew this, you must have… right? None of my songs this year are what they should be… how could they be? They weren’t given the focus or time or dedication their final state deserves.
I will be taking songs from this year and revamping them. Renovating them. Spicing them up, renovating their insides, and making them the songs they deserve to be. I will be doing this through 2011 and who knows, maybe 2012, too. I want to release a couple EPs or a full length or two… I have decided exactly how they should be released just yet. But one thing I do know is that I have too many songs, some of which are pretty obviously not worth expanding on at all. But I want you all to have a say in at least the songs I consider taking to the next level this year.
In order to help you do this, I’ve compiled a sister Tumblr that consists solely of songs I released this year. Nearly all of these songs were written this year, but a few of them were songs I released as ‘old’ songs—old songs that still haven’t had their chance to get polished up.
Do me a favor, a big one, one that will mean a lot to me, and let me know the songs you like. Let me know one song you like. Or thirty. You can do this by LIKING the songs on the ELIZABETH SEWARD SONGS Tumblr. If you’re reading this message on Facebook and don’t want to sign up for Tumblr, you can also do this by commenting on this note. If you’re reading this on Twitter and don’t want to sign up for Tumblr or become my friend on Facebook, you can just @ElizabethSeward me and let me know which songs you like. If any stood out to you this past year, I’d love to know.
Thank you so much. I can’t wait to turn these songs into what they deserve to be.
Thanks for the mention, guys!
