Space exploration: what could be more important?

Mitt Romney, if space exploration isn’t important, what is? Not only is space currently the wild west; a frontier that will be claimed by another country if not us, so long as we keep humans separated by country, but within it most definitely holds the answers to questions humans have been asking from the beginning. Rather than assume those questions are answered with man-made theories, shouldn’t it be of the utmost importance that we seek out the science-backed truth? Earth has a shelf life, this we know. In the interest of humanity, if you are interested in humanity and the continuing of humanity beyond the Earth’s inevitable death, space exploration should never be anything short of an unchangeable priority.
